About Sharaan Nature Reserve

The reserve was officially established in 2020 by the Royal Commission for AlUla as part of an ambitious conservation program to restore native wildlife and protect AlUla’s fragile desert ecosystem. Covering around 1,500 square kilometers, it is one of the largest protected areas in northwestern Saudi Arabia.
