About La Jolla Cove

La Jolla Coves is one of the most photographed beaches in Southern California, located along the coastline dotted with rare aquatic animals.

Why Visit La Jolla Cove?

If you’re looking for a stunning destination that combines natural beauty and abundance of marine life, then La Jolla Cove, aka The Jewel of San Diego, should be next on your list. This small deep-water cove is surrounded by sandstone cliffs that rise up dramatically around the cove. The views are absolutely breathtaking as the waves crash on the rugged shore as well as the sandy shore.

The beautiful clear water is a snorkeler and diver's dream with plenty of marine life to explore such as Garibaldi fish and leopard sharks. And divers and snorkelers aren’t the only lucky ones to enjoy the water, because the sea lions and seals are also dancing around having fun. If you want to get an even closer look there is also a children’s pool just around the bend.

Scripps Park, directly above the cove, is perfect for picnics with a view of the ocean from afar. La Jolla also offers a bit of thrill with some of the most well-known sea caves, like Sunny Jim’s Cave.

Nature photographers and lovers will enjoy the captivating sights at La Jolla as they will be met with fresh scents from the local flora, which further add to the charm.
