About San Diego Symphony

Experience the magic of the San Diego Symphony, where world-class music meets stunning coastal views.

Why Visit the San Diego Symphony?

Some places play music while others let you feel it, which includes the San Diego Symphony. Whether it’s the hush before the first note or the way the wind carries sound across the bay, a night with this orchestra is more than a concert; it’s an unforgettable experience shaped by setting and sound.

The open-air Rady Shell at Jacobs Park can be considered as one of the most beautiful sites in the country, with its one-of-a-kind architecture against the backdrop of the Pacific, where you can spot sailboats drifting by as violins swell. The Symphony’s programs range from timeless symphonies to modern film scores, jazz ensembles, and cultural showcases.

During fall and winter, performances move downtown to the elegant Copley Symphony Hall, where chandeliers, gilded walls, and rich acoustics offer a more intimate way to listen. The San Diego Symphony gives visitors an opportunity to discover history dating back a century, since it is the oldest orchestra in the state of California.
