About Coronado Beach

Escape to Coronado Beach, California, where golden sands meet historic charm and endless sunshine. Perfect for families, couples, and solo travelers, this iconic beach offers stunning sunsets, outdoor adventures, and a touch of luxury.

Why Visit Coronado Beach?

Coronado beach is a sunlit paradise combining glittery sands appearing so due to the mineral cica underneath and an eye-catching view of the legendary Hotel de Coronado. Witness all of your everyday worries melt away as you walk into the water, calming and refreshing your mind with each step forward.

Visitors often engage in activities such as competing with the waves while surfing, paddle boarding, soaking in the sun during sunbathing and taking part in a friendly seaside volleyball game add a touch of excitement and thrill to your relaxing retreat on the beachside. Children continue to build sandcastles with complete dedication even though they are washed away by the smooth waves several times.

Family-friendly spots such as Glorietta Bay, Silver Strand State Beach, and Ferry Landing Marketplace are located in the vicinity, waiting to be discovered. The Glorietta Bay features lush green lawns and a kids' favourite playground. Plan picnics at the Silver Strand Beach and fish along the Ferry Landing Marketplace while soaking in the breathtaking ocean views.

Experience the wind gently brushing past your hair and make it fly as you take a leisurely walk on the coastline, making you feel like the main character of a film. The presence of lifeguards allows travellers to enjoy their time at the beach to the fullest, without having to worry about the safety of themselves and their loved ones.  Watching the sun slowly disappearing at sunset in Coronado beach leaves you mesmerized.

What to Expect

  1. Golden Sands: Unlike typical white or brown sand, Coronado’s sand has a unique shimmer due to its mica content, making it sparkle in the sunlight.
  2. Family-Friendly Atmosphere: The calm waters and lifeguard-patrolled areas make it safe for families and children.
  3. Iconic Landmarks: The Hotel del Coronado, built in 1888, is must-see. Its Victorian architecture and oceanfront location are perfect for photos.
  4. Outdoor Activities: From kayaking and paddleboarding to biking along the scenic paths, there’s no shortage of things to do.
  5. Stunning Sunsets: The beach faces west, offering some of the most breathtaking sunset views in California.

Tips for the Best Experience

  1. Arrive early for a parking spot and lesser crowds before the beach becomes packed.

  4. Pair the beach day with visiting Hotel del Coronado admiring its red roofs and impressive architecture.
  5. Grab souvenirs from the orange avenue with its unique boutiques and galleries.

How to Get There

  1. By bus: Take the MTS route 901, get off at Orange Avenue and walk for nearly ten minutes to reach the beach.
