It is a small, peaceful spot situated in the Glenview neighborhood, right along Park Boulevard. The park is highly visited and loved by locals and visitors all year round as it provides a convenient and cozy place for residents to sit and detox from the usual urban stress without leaving the city. The park has open lawns and pavements that are nice for riding bikes or simply wandering around. It is a hit with families as it has a playground for kids with swings and climbing equipment, basketball half court and shaded seating as well, making it an ideal place to plan picnics or just a day out with kids. It's also a nice spot for dog owners to walk their pets.


One of the best things about Glenview Park is how close it is to everything. You can simply walk over to Park Boulevard with your friends and family for a quick brunch or meal after hanging out outdoors. The place is also extremely affordable and convenient as there's no entrance fee, and you'll usually find street parking nearby. It's highly recommended to visit the park during spring and fall as the weather is a lot more pleasant and the vibe is the perfect mix of playful and peaceful.

  • The neighborhood is family-friendly and dog-friendly, with sidewalks and crosswalks making it accessible for strollers and wheelchairs.
  • It is advised to bring your own water and snacks as there are no cafés or food stalls inside the park. You can drop by Park Boulevard for food and dining options.
  • You can also combine your visit with a walk to Diamond Park which is right adjacent to the park. It is famous for the Lions Pool and Oakland's oldest oak tree.



How to Get There


By metro 

Fruitvale Station is the closest stop to the location, from there you need to use a rideshare or AC Transit bus to reach Park Boulevard.


By train

If arriving by Amtrak, you need to get off at Jack London Square Station and take a taxi or bus to reach Glenview.


By bus

For commuting via bus, AC Transit lines 33 and 14 stop along Park Boulevard, just near the park entrance. You can also take these lines NL, V, 18, 618, 688 as well to reach the park.


By car

If travelling by car, drive via Park Boulevard from I-580 or Highway 13 to reach the park.
