About Southside Botanical Gardens

Nestled in the heart of Corpus Christi, the Southside Botanical Gardens is a sanctuary where the vibrant hues of blooming flowers meet the serene whispers of nature. Spanning 180 acres, this haven offers a harmonious blend of cultivated gardens and untouched wilderness, inviting visitors to embark on a sensory journey through the diverse landscapes of South Texas.

The roots of this botanical paradise trace back to 1983 with the formation of the Corpus Christi Botanical Society. In 1987, a modest one-acre cottage garden and nature trail were established, marking the beginning of what would evolve into a premier botanical destination. By 1996, the gardens found their permanent home on 180 acres of leased city parkland, where they've flourished ever since.

The gardens showcase a variety of architectural elements that complement their natural beauty. Highlights include the Rose Garden Pavilion, the Monkey Mansion Tree House, and the Birding Tower, each offering unique perspectives and experiences for visitors.
