About The Orange Peel

The building that houses The Orange Peel has lived many lives: it was once a roller‑skating rink in the 1950s, later a bowling alley, then a series of soul and R&B clubs.

In 2002, the venue was reborn as The Orange Peel Social Aid & Pleasure Club.

Things to See / Key Attractions Inside & Near The Orange Peel

  • Live concerts spanning genres — rock, indie, folk, hip‑hop, electronic, soul, even comedy nights.
  • Intimate concert atmosphere — the dance floor wooden slats, stage visible from almost every angle, and a crowd close to the performers give a raw, up‑close experience.
  • The downstairs bar lounge, PULP — retro vibe, art displays, and live‑feed of the concert above for a more relaxed view or for nights when the main floor is packed.

Best Time to Visit The Orange Peel

  • Evenings and nights — most concerts and live‑music events take place after dark.
  • Weekends (Friday & Saturday) — many headline shows and bands tend to perform these nights.
  • Arrive early — Doors often open 45–60 minutes before showtime; arriving early increases your chance of a good spot, especially since many shows are general admission standing.
  • Check seasonal event schedules — sometimes there are special events, themed nights, or benefit concerts.
